We packed up for a quick getaway to Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona, just long enough to trade triple-digit temps for cool mountain air and celebrate Father’s Day together. We brought along our Roman bags, which made packing and traveling so much easier. These bags kept everything organized and ready for adventure, setting the tone for a smooth trip.

Father’s Day and Mountain Biking Adventures
The best part of the trip was watching my husband hit the trails and get some much-needed mountain bike time in. There’s something about pine trees, fresh air, and a little adventure that resets everyone’s mood—kids included. The kids loved exploring the forest paths and spotting wildlife, while my husband enjoyed the challenge of the rugged terrain. It was a perfect way to celebrate Father’s Day: active, outdoors, and together.
We spent our days exploring the cool mountain air, sharing meals outside, and enjoying the slower pace. The fresh environment gave us all a chance to recharge. It reminded me how important it is to step away from daily routines and make time for family and nature.
Coming Home to the Best Surprise
And then we came home to the best surprise: a clean house. Before we left, we scheduled a cleaner while out of town. Walking in to sparkling counters, fresh floors, and everything back in place felt like extending the vacation by another day. Instead of spending our first night home catching up on chores, all we had to do was the laundry—and honestly, that was such a relief.
Coming home to clean floors and counters made a huge difference in how relaxed I felt after the trip. It’s amazing how much a tidy space can help you transition back into everyday life. The cleaner had done such a thorough job that it felt like we were walking into a fresh start.
The “Clean House” Payoff

Scheduling a cleaner while out of town gave us the freedom to fully enjoy our getaway without worrying about the mess waiting at home. It’s a simple step that made a big impact. Here are a few reasons why this approach works so well:
Saves time and energy: No need to rush home and clean before settling in.
Reduces stress: Coming back to a clean space helps you feel calm and refreshed.
Extends the vacation feeling: A tidy home lets you enjoy that relaxed mood a little longer, and possibly keeping that vacation smile a bit longer!
Now if I could only find a simple solution for the laundry too, but I’ll happily take “only laundry” as a win. Laundry is the one chore that still waits for me after every trip, but compared to everything else, it feels manageable.
Practical Tips for Your Next Trip
If you want to enjoy your vacation and come home to a clean house, here are some tips based on my experience:
Pack smart with organized bags like Roman bags to make travel easier.
Plan activities that everyone enjoys to make the trip memorable.
Schedule a cleaner while out of town to come home to sparkling counters, fresh floors, and everything back in place.
Prepare for laundry ahead of time by sorting clothes or using laundry bags to make the process smoother when you return.
These small steps can make a big difference in how you experience your trip and your return home.
